This course explores the psychological foundations of effective coaching, focusing on both the mental processes of athletes and the psychological demands placed on coaches. Students examine motivation, confidence, communication, emotional regulation, team dynamics, stress, burnout, and identity in sport across youth, collegiate, and high‑performance settings. The course also addresses the psychology of being a coach, including leadership style, self‑awareness, ethical decision‑making, and well-being. Emphasis is placed on applying sport psychology principles to enhance performance, relationships, and sustainable coaching practice.
